Why there's no monthly bill

Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress run software every time someone visits your site. That software needs a server. The server is what you pay for.

We rebuild your site as plain files instead. Plain files don't need a server. We put them on Cloudflare Pages, which serves unlimited traffic for free and allows business sites. Nothing is running, so there's nothing to bill.

Your site will also load faster. That's a side effect of removing the software, not a separate service.

Leaving Wix, Squarespace, or GoDaddy

None of them let you take your site with you. This is the part most people find out too late.

So a rebuild is the only way off. That's the job. We do it by hand, keep your look and your words, and map your old page addresses to the new ones so your Google rankings carry over.

   We count your pages and send back a fixed price. Nothing is charged yet.

2. We rebuild the site

   Same look, same words, same photos, written by hand. Your current site stays up the whole time.

3. You look at it first

   We send a private link. Tell us what's wrong and we fix it.

4. We point your domain at it

   We handle the switch, the security certificate, and the redirects. Then you cancel your old plan.

Questions

Is the hosting really free?

Yes, for a normal small business site. We use Cloudflare Pages, which doesn't cap bandwidth and permits business sites on its free plan. We won't bill you monthly for hosting. What we can't do is promise another company's pricing never changes, so here's the honest version: if free static hosting ever went away, we'd move your files somewhere cheap and tell you first. You own the files either way.

Who owns the website?

You do. You own the domain, the files, and the content. We hand you a copy of everything at launch. Nothing is locked to us, and you can take it to any other developer.

What happens when I cancel Wix or Squarespace?

Your old site comes down. That's why we build and launch the new one first, then you cancel. Keep the old plan running for one extra billing cycle as a safety net if it makes you more comfortable.

Can't I just export my site from Wix?

No. Wix has no site export. Squarespace exports text only, not your design. GoDaddy has no export tool. That's why this is a rebuild rather than a transfer.

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Not if the move is done right. We keep your page titles and content, and we point every old address at its new one so search engines follow. Rankings usually settle back within a few weeks.

Whose site can you rebuild?

Yours. We rebuild sites you own or have written permission to rebuild, and we confirm that before starting. We won't copy someone else's site.

How do I make changes later?

Send us the change and we do it, billed per edit. No monthly plan. Or edit the files yourself, or hand them to any developer. It's plain HTML.

Do you work with businesses outside Connecticut?

Yes. We're in Storrs and work with businesses across eastern Connecticut, but the whole process works over email and a preview link, so location doesn't matter much.
